After the chaotic withdrawal of military forces from Afghanistan last year, thousands of Afghans were resettled in the United States. They are here seeking safety, and they need legal support to do that.
That’s where you come in. We’re mobilizing volunteer attorneys to help prepare asylum applications for people from Afghanistan who are trying to settle in the U.S. But we need more funds for our work.
We’re moving as quickly as we can to provide pro bono legal assistance, but there’s much more work to be done. In addition to our support of Afghan asylum seekers, we work to get people out of immigration detention and support people who were formerly subject to the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy. We also advocate for an end to punitive immigration enforcement, so everyone can have a fair day in court.
